Alright, I’m gonna be straightforward with you guys: I really just do not understand the appeal of cartoon porn. And I don’t know if I ever will. It is not from lack of trying. I’ve looked at it all—hentai, manga, 3D porn, comics, cartoon spoofs, etc. It just does not do it for me. I’ll just never understand what it is about drawings that gets people off. Can someone please explain it to me?

But, on the other hand, I won’t lie to you and say that I’ve never been inexplicably attracted to a fictional character. Jasmine from Alladin, for example, is responsible for inspiring my first erection that I can recall. She was sexy, sure, but in a way that made me imagine what she would look like in real life. That, for me, was where the attraction stemmed from. I’ve even tried watching Alladin spoof porn that shows the beautiful princess getting fucked silly. Nothing.

No, porn, for me, is appealing because it is able to bring me closer to realistic fantasies. Like having a student come into my office hours, begging for ‘extra credit,’ or my secretary who stays late with me just to lock herself in my office and earn herself a raise (and gets one … raised onto my desk that is). But watching cartoon or obviously, CGI-generated characters participating in exaggerated, impossible sex acts is just too far from the realm of possibility to get my dick to even twitch with interest at the sight.

That being said, plenty of pornophiles all over the world do seem to thoroughly enjoy this kind of content. So much so that there are hundreds upon hundreds of porn sites dedicated solely to the genre of comic book, cartoon, or hentai porn. And, on top of that, most of the more traditional porn tube sites also feature page after page of this type of content if you go looking for it.

But that is what’s so great about porn sites—there is something out there for everyone. And I’m not going to judge you for your desires (so long as they don’t involve rape, pedophilia, or incest … if that’s what you’re into, just close out of this review immediately and go deepthroat the barrel of a shotgun—you’d be doing the world a favor). So, if beating your meat to comic book titties is your thing, by all means, have at it. And, luckily for you, there is no shortage of available outlets to help you do so.

A Very Versatile Collection of Animated Porn

One of those outlets is known as 8Muses.com. Dedicated to all things illustrated porn, 8 Muses combines original adult comics, porn spoofs of your favorite cartoons, hentai, manga, CGI porn, and faked celebrity nudes in order to offer you an enormous database of illustrated pornography. With 8muses.com, you’d be hard pressed to ever run out of “reading” material.

From the moment you arrive at the home page of 8muses, it is hard not to notice how clean and well-designed the site is. It is a very clear and easy to navigate layout, simple and elegant. You have a dark blue background, gray text, and a gallery of thumbnails to click through, page after page. The thumbnails are all of different comic book authors or illustrators, and they are sorted by most viewed by default. You can, however, easily toggle through to have the site sort the thumbnails by likes, date added, or alphabetically if you prefer.

To the left of the thumbnails, you have a clear and straightforward menu to help you navigate the site. Click through to recently uploaded comics, “more content” (various comic authors, fake celebrity sex pictures, hentai and manga in English, Fakku (the largest English-speaking hentai and manga publisher in the world), forum, sex games, or search.

I was immediately intrigued by the fake celebrity sex pictures section, so I decided to check that out first. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s been a long time since I’ve looked at fake celeb pics, and they seem to have come quite a ways. They were all very realistic looking and well done. I could definitely see myself returning to 8muses for these at some point in the future.

Beyond that, I think all of the tabs on the menu list sort of speak for themselves. The sex games button didn’t work for me (I think my ad block zapped it … so, that makes me assume that it’s not actually a part of the site, but an ad for a specific third-party sex game or site). So, that’s a little bit disappointing. But, hey, maybe you’re braver than me when it comes to embracing porn site pop-up ads; if so, give it a try and see where it takes you. But don’t blame me if your computer catches digital herpes!

Active and Engaged Forum

One feature of the site that I am happy to see is the 8Muses forum section. Not only is it great when sites offer a space for their members to engage in a community capacity, but it is even better when these communities in question are active and their members are regularly engaged. And that was the case for 8muses’ forum. By far the forum’s most active thread was “Western Art and Comics,” with 3,828 threads. The least active was “Original Art and Creations,” at only 74 threads (but this doesn’t come as a huge surprise, seeing as true visual artistic ability is a pretty rare talent).

In addition to those two sections, the forum also included places for its members to discuss and share 3D art and comics, Hentai and Asian style comics, Pictures (where users caption images of real people), requests, general discussion, and a problems, suggestions, and questions section for the site moderators to check in on. To the right of the forum sections, you’ll find a few links (theporndude.com being one of them—definitely getting some bonus points there), a list of the forum’s latest posts, as well as a list of the most viewed threads in the last seven days. Plus, in the top right-hand corner, feel free to sign up for 8muses’ newsletter to get the latest updates, comic releases, and info about the site sent directly to your inbox.

Another Big Win for 8muses…

Another win for 8muses.com? Wait for it … drum roll, please … the site is completely ad-free! Well, aside from the potential ad that wouldn’t open when I clicked on “Porn Games.” But, still, to have zero on-page ads is a big deal in the world of online porn. It is super rare. But, of course, the way that it should be. So, I would like to give 8 Muses a great big round of applause for having a little integrity and refusing to annoy and pander to its users for a quick buck. This is a huge plus for the site (especially in combination with the fact that they have great taste in what sites they link to…).

Areas for Improvement

Is there anything that I think 8muses could improve upon? Hmm … The only thing that really comes to mind would be to enable some sort of commenting system. It would be nice if members could, in addition to discussing their favorite comics in the forum, have a place where they could discuss specific comic issues as they’re viewing them as well. Maybe even on a page-by-page basis. I’m sure fans would love to be able to do that.

Oh, and now that I’m thinking about it, it wouldn’t hurt if 8muses could improve their e-reader a little bit so that full issues feel more like full issues. As of now, when you click on a comic issue, pages appear in a gallery style format (sometimes, even, it’s unclear as to whether or not they actually appear in order).

When you click on an image, sure, you can then click through, the rest of it, but it just seems like something (I’m not entirely sure what) could be done to make it feel more like a comic book reading experience, as opposed to how it currently feels just like clicking on random porn thumbnails. A download option, too, would be nice.

So, What’s the Verdict?

All in all, there was more for me to enjoy on this site than I initially thought there would be. Although I’m not completely swayed into becoming a porn comic book fan, I can now at least understand the appeal a bit more. And the high-quality fake celebs might just convince me to return to 8 Muses, even though it’s not really my thing.

As a porn site, though, for fans of comic book and animated porn, I think it’s great. Well-designed, easy to navigate, simple to use, an active and engaged community of members with an excellent forum, no ads. Sure, maybe there were a couple of areas that had room for slight improvements, but, overall, 8muses seems to really be excelling at what they’re doing—providing a database of high-quality animated porn for an eager community of fans and artists.
